Director

Madi Fitz Mailhes

Reigning from Plano, Texas, Coach Madi was a middle blocker for 12 years before testing out the sand.   By the end of her college career she was beach only when she graduated Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2019. Being a dual collegiate athlete Coach Madi has a unique experience to share with the next generation of beach. From coaching at MadSand to relocating the to the Cayman Islands and now back in the States, Madi has transitioning into a director role this year at Silver Beach. Coach Madi loves coaching all age groups. She is passionate about the mental health/performance side of the sport and aims to help athletes off the court as much as on the court.

Master Coach

Aubrey Kozer

Coach Aubrey is originally from Akron, Ohio where she played Division I indoor volleyball at the University of Akron. She served her team as two-year captain and earned All Mac Academic Accolades three years in a row. She moved to Austin in 2018, found the beach game in 2019 and the rest was history. Starting her playing experience at Project Serve, she quickly developed an affinity for playing and coaching. She became the Adult Director of Project Serve in 2020- bringing in over 200 adult athletes to the program in two years! So much growth increased her exposure and overall knowledge of the beach game. Aubrey joined Silver Beach in 2022, and she’s been such a great addition. She's loved learning the technicality of beach from some of most decorated women’s players in the game. Coach Aubrey is looking forward to another great year with Silver Beach!

Hybrid Coach

Jack Peterson

Coach Jack grew up in the DFW area and had a passion for sports and fitness from a young age. From 2009-2013 he was a student athlete for Track & Field at Texas State University. While there he also participated on the indoor volleyball club team. After graduating, he quickly learned that he enjoyed Beach Volleyball much more than track and even indoor volleyball. Soon after he began traveling around the country for tournaments and playing in a few AVP qualifiers. Coach Jack has been with Silver Beach for 5 years and loves the challenges of coaching all age groups and skill levels.

Hybrid Coach

Addie Yeates

Coach Addie was born in Austin, TX where she spent her formative years. She proudly attended Vandegrift High School where she played as a libero for 4 years, but her passion for beach volleyball began when she discovered that swinging and diving in the sand was way more fun! Her collegiate path led her to Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she played for 2 years until the onset of the pandemic. She transferred to the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Advertising and Business. In December 2023, she will graduate from the best Advertising school in the nation and plans to get a job in tech and marketing! She loves to stay active, plays beach competitively, and loves running and yoga. Coach Addie is so excited to continue her journey at Silver Beach and help young players to love the game as much as she does.

Hybrid Coach

Cliff Bergfeld

Coach Cliff has coached volleyball in various roles for almost 30 years. 
He currently coaches both beach and indoor for LOVB sister clubs Silver Beach and Roots. Cliff’s volleyball career began in 1995 when he competed for Ohlone College in Fremont, California. A decorated collegiate career from coast to coast led him to competing as an Open/AA level grass and beach volleyball player for many years to follow. Alongside his playing career he coached high school and collegiate indoors across the Northeast before returning back to Austin. Igniting a passion for volleyball, both daughters now play and pursue paths to play collegiately. When the Bergfeld's aren't playing volleyball they like to travel. Coach Cliff looks forward to helping all the Silver Beach athletes achieve their best.

Assistant Coach

Micaela Mirabal

Returning home! Coach Mic fell in love with volleyball in 5th grade when watching UT win the National Championship in 2012. She played volleyball and basketball at Bowie and pursued indoor volleyball until senior year when she decided to switch and pursue beach volleyball collegiately. Coach Mic played 4 years at top 10 program Grand Canyon University before COVID hit. She then transferred and obtained her Masters in Communication during her 5th year at Texas A&M Corpus Christi 2020-2022. Winning the Southland Conference led her to the 2022 NCAA National Championships in Gulf Shores competing against the top 16 teams in the country. Using her collegiate experience, she is ready to guide the next class of young women who are pursuing collegiate beach volleyball.

Makenna Haynes

Home sweet home! Coach Makenna is a Silver beach alumni & Austin native. She is now finishing her education at the University of Texas. She loves all things outdoors and brings a fiery energy to the sand game. An avid wakesurfer, hiker and fitness enthusiast, Makenna is your go to gal for all things health and fitness related. She is passionate about bringing the game to the younger generations and getting beach volleyball involved in after school programs!

Maddie Parmelly

Originally from Rockwall, Texas, Coach Maddie started playing indoor volleyball at 12 years old and switched to beach by the time she was 16. Coming to Silver Beach with an impressive 4 year career at FGCU on her back, she will also be continuing her education and playing her 5th year at the University of Texas.  A rockstar on the sand, bringing her knowledge and passion for the game to a club in her backyard. Coach Maddie is passionate about coaching and challenging the next generation to excel in the game of beach volleyball.

Assistant Coach

Douglas Florencio

Coach Douglas is joining Silver Beach from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Relatively a novice to volleyball, Douglas didn't start playing until he was 21. Picking up the game quickly, he played at King University in Tennessee as well as the University of Charleston in West Virginia. He helped coach both women's indoor programs  while he attended school and was later the volunteer assistant at Ole' Miss. With a love for coaching and training for sand, he is the perfect addition to Silver Beach. He is passionate about growing beach and indoor for the boys side of the game!
