2022 AVCA Beach Coach of the Year

Head Coach

Jack Peterson

Competed in Track & Field for Texas State University but immediately switched gears and started competing in Beach Volleyball upon graduation from college. Jack is very competitive and learned beach volleyball as quickly as he could. He decided to start coaching with Silver Beach to help grow the local scene of beach volleyball. It has been so rewarding to watch our athletes develop into top competitors and role models for the next generation.

Outside of beach volleyball, Jack works full time for a real estate investment company.

Head Coach

Jerod Heine

Jerod grew up wrestling and playing football and later in life transitioned into muay thai, Brazilian jui jitsu and then discovered beach volleyball. He was hooked from the start, but the journey wasn’t easy. Luckily, he found training early and went from not being able to pass a ball to winning high level tournaments and competing in AVP Qualifiers and AVP Next tournaments. Jerod is excited to help others with their passion for beach volleyball and pay back all the awesome coaches and trainers who helped him, by sharing his knowledge with the next generation.

Head Coach

Madi "Fitz" Mailhes

Former indoor middle transitioned to sand halfway through her college career at Texas A&M Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) and fell in love. Full sand athlete by her senior year in 2019 has lead to the next 4 years of coaching and cheers to more. Formerly at Madsand, and newly transitioned from a year in the Cayman Islands, Madi is new to the Austin area. She loves the mental side of the sport and being able to help young athletes on and off the court through life and the game of beach volleyball.

He returned to coaching Indoor and Beach Club volleyball to spend more time with his own daughters.  Cliff enjoys incorporating data and statistics into his methods of teaching volleyball. Cliff was an accomplished beach player himself, competing in multiple stops of the AVP’s qualifier tour in 1995-96 and winning numerous Texas based Open Championships. Cliff’s accolades include 1995 2nd Team All-Coast Conference while playing opposite at Ohlone College and Northern California Volleyball Association AA rating, as well as a quarterfinals birth in the 1999 NIRSA Collegiate Club Championships as a member of the University at Buffalo Men’s Volleyball Team.  A well connected member of our staff Cliff has coaching relationships all across the country, not just the coasts!

Assistant Coach

Maya Daukas

Maya played Division 1 beach volleyball at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi where she earned her bachelors degree in economics.  She splits time to train overseas in Denmark and plans to compete in more high-level competitions in 2022.

Assistant Coach

Makenna Haynes

Makenna is a student at the University of Texas at Austin. She played beach volleyball as a junior and continues to do so at the open level. Makenna trained at Silver Beach as a junior, and she loves all of the memories she made here!

Assistant Coach

Addie Yeats

Addie was born and raised in Austin and began playing beach volleyball in high school. She attended Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she played volleyball for 2 years. She then transferred to The University of Texas at Austin  and is continuing to earn to Bachelors Degree in Advertising while still coaching, training, and competing at a high-level.

Assistant Coach

Regan Fleener

Born and raised in Austin Texas, Regan's first childhood memories are sitting in her dad's lap watching her mom play beach volleyball at Aussies. She has had an unwavering passion for the sport since she can remember. She played club volleyball since the age of 11, was a 4 year varsity starter, and spent her summers training in Hermosa Beach. She attended Texas A&M University, and although they did not have a beach program during her years there, she never lost a love for the game. Regan moved back to Austin to work at Google, but a full time job hasn't stopped her from coaching and playing sand volleyball every chance she gets.

Head Coach

Jack McGraw

Played basketball originally and found a love for beach volleyball after college. He competes in tournaments all around Texas (and sometimes cool places like Seaside, OR!) but his favorite place to play is right in his own backyard. Home court advantage! Jack is a student of the game and loves sharing what he learns with others.

Lindsay Rosenthal

Started Silver Beach in her backyard as a place for her kids to train and learn to love the sport. She now oversees the direction of the club, is the best sub coach around, and her kids have set the standard for the type of play, attitude, and joy we hope every athlete who joins Silver Beach develops.
